Midfielder Kenza Dali has been a revelation in her first NWSL campaign, earning a spot in the league's August Best XI. The French international has started all 18 matches for San Diego this season and chipped in her third goal of the year during the club’s August 16 win over Bay FC.

For Houston, the attacking spark has come from Avery Patterson, Michelle Alozie Graham, and Kiki van Zanten. Patterson and Graham share top-scorer honors with three goals apiece, while van Zanten has added two of her own.
