Big Ten football heats back up Saturday as No. 20 Michigan returns to the Big House for a Week 6 showdown with Wisconsin.
The Badgers enter year three under head coach Luke Fickell, but so far, his tenure has left plenty to be desired. Sitting at 15-15 overall (8-11 in conference play) since his arrival, Wisconsin has been stuck in neutral, and a 2-2 start in 2025 hasn’t helped the narrative. Their latest outing was another step back, a 27-10 defeat at the hands of Maryland.
Michigan, on the other hand, might not be built to chase a national title this fall, but this is still a team firmly entrenched among the Big Ten’s upper class. The Wolverines survived a tough fight last weekend against Nebraska, edging out the Cornhuskers 30-27, and will look to build on that momentum at home.

Michigan vs Wisconsin team news & key players
Michigan Wolverines team news
Bryce Underwood wasn’t spectacular through the air for Michigan against Nebraska, but he managed the game effectively, throwing for 105 yards on 12-of-22 passing without a touchdown or a pick. Where he really made an impact was with his legs, adding eight carries for 61 yards and punching in a rushing score. Justice Haynes was the workhorse for the Wolverines, tearing through the Cornhuskers’ defense with 149 yards on 17 carries (an eye-popping 8.8 yards per tote) and a touchdown, while also chipping in three short receptions. Donaven McCulley was the top target, pulling in three passes for 39 yards.
Wisconsin Badgers team news
On the Wisconsin side, Danny O’Neil’s struggles continued against Maryland. The Badgers’ quarterback completed 14-of-22 attempts for 120 yards but failed to throw a touchdown and was picked off once. Darrion Dupree paced the run game with 52 yards on 14 carries, though the 3.7 yards per attempt left plenty to be desired. He also added a couple of short catches. The one bright spot came from Trech Kekahuna, who gave the Badgers’ passing attack a spark with five receptions for 77 yards, averaging 15.4 yards per grab.
