Bristol City will be out to preserve their unbeaten start to the campaign when they head to Pride Park on Friday for a Championship clash with Derby County.
John Eustace's Rams impressed many with their performances last season, but the new campaign has begun on a sour note. Derby opened with a 3-1 defeat to Stoke City, where they were second-best for much of the contest before conceding twice late on. That was followed by another setback — a chaotic 5-3 home loss to Coventry City, once again in a game where they struggled to match their opponent’s intensity.
Bristol City, on the other hand, arrive with momentum on their side. After thumping Sheffield United 4-1 at Bramall Lane on the opening weekend, the Robins went on to dispatch Milton Keynes Dons 2-0 in the EFL Cup before being held to a stalemate at Ashton Gate against a well-drilled Charlton Athletic side.

Derby team news
Team news paints a mixed picture for Derby. Curtis Nelson, Lars-Jorgen Salvesen, Sondre Langas, Corey Blackett-Taylor, and Owen Beck are all unavailable, while Kane Wilson is edging closer to fitness following minor knee surgery, though it remains unclear if he will feature. New signing Rhian Brewster could, however, be named in a matchday squad for the first time since joining earlier this month.
Bristol City team news
For the visitors, Joe Williams has suffered a setback in his ankle recovery and is set to be sidelined for around two months. He joins Luke McNally, Cam Pring, and Max O’Leary on the treatment table. On the brighter side, Mark Sykes and ex-Derby midfielder Max Bird are both pushing for starts after strong cameos off the bench in last weekend's draw.
