The teenage star will be tasked with making things happen for the U.S. just behind the forward duo of Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey

Christian Pulisic will start at the No. 10 position as the U.S. takes on Trinidad & Tobago in a crucial World Cup qualifier on Thursday night.

With the exception of Jozy Altidore taking Bobby Wood's place, the U.S. is unchanged from its 1-1 friendly draw with Venezuela on Saturday as it seeks three badly needed points at Dick's Sporting Goods Park outside of Denver.

Pulisic ready to take on U.S. stardom

U.S. coach Bruce Arena has opted for Darlington Nagbe ahead of Alejandro Bedoya on the right flank, with Fabian Johnson on the left side.

Wood is the odd man out up top, with Altidore and Clint Dempsey partnered in a two-man forward line.

In defense, John Brooks has recovered from a bruised quad suffered against Venezuela, and will partner Geoff Cameron in the center of the U.S. defense.

USA XI: Howard; Yedlin, Cameron, Brooks, Villafana; Bradley, Nagbe, Johnson, Pulisic; Dempsey, Altidore

Trinidad & Tobago XI: J. Williams; Bateau, Cyrus, Edwards, M. Williams; Hyland, J. Jones, Molino, George; K. Jones, Lewis.
