President Buhari gives cash reward to 2015 Golden Eaglets

The victorious Nigeria U17 team of 2015 have been given cash rewards by President Muhammadu Buhari for their feat.

The Golden Eaglets won the Fifa U17 World Cup for a record fifth time in Chile after defeating west African neigbours Mali 2-0.

On Thursday, President Buhari hosted the victorious team alongside other national teams at the presidential palace in Abuja.

The President praised their bravery and determination to bring joy and glory to their fatherland as he received the trophy from captain Kelechi Nwakali.

The Golden Eaglets also got bumper packages from the President who rewarded each of the players with a cash award of 1.2million naira while head coach Emmanuel Emenike got 900,000 naira while his assistants got 600,000 naira each.

The main attraction of the day and President Buhari's cherished Golden Eaglets team of the 1985 Class were adequately rewarded with N2 million each while their technical team led by assistant coach Christian Chukwu got N1.5 million each.
