How to watch anywhere with VPN
For American football fans in the US, a VPN, like ExpressVPN, primarily solves region-locking restrictions by bypassing local TV blackouts. By connecting to a server in a different city or country, fans can watch out-of-market matchups or access cheaper, comprehensive international streaming packages like DAZN's NFL Game Pass, which includes every game live.
Additionally, VPN encryption prevents Internet Service Providers from throttling your bandwidth during high-traffic broadcasts, secures your personal data on public Wi-Fi networks, and allows you to access domestic streaming subscriptions like YouTube TV while traveling abroad.
Wake Forest vs Akron Preview
Akron opens the 2026 season after finishing 5-7 last year. The Zips closed 2025 with a 19-16 win over Bowling Green, with running back Jordan Gant rushing for 86 yards to finish the season with 1,032. Gant became Akron’s first 1,000-yard rusher since 2008 and returns as one of the team’s main offensive options. Akron also brings back kicker Matthew Schramm, who made all four of his field-goal attempts in the season finale, including one from 48 yards.
Wake Forest is also beginning their 2026 season after going 9-4 in Jake Dickert’s first season as head coach. The Demon Deacons ended last year with a 43-29 win over Mississippi State in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. Wide receiver Carlos Hernandez returns after leading Wake Forest with 40 catches for 611 yards and three receiving touchdowns, while defensive lineman Langston Hardy is back after leading the ACC with 17 tackles for loss and adding seven sacks.
