Sergino Dest has learned the full extent of his knee injury, with it reported that the USMNT star could be sidelined for up to nine months.

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    PSV have announced that the versatile 23-year-old has suffered a serious knock. They said in an official club statement: “Sergino Dest suffered an apparently serious knee injury during Saturday’s training. How long the full-back will be sidelined is still being investigated. It is almost certain that this concerns a longer period.”

    Dest has impressed during a loan spell in the Netherlands this season, having been deemed surplus to requirements by La Liga giants Barcelona. He has registered two goals and seven assists, while taking his tally of senior international caps to 33.

    He now appears destined to sit out this summer’s Copa America in the United States, with The Athletic reporting that it could be 2025 before Dest is seen again.
