Chelsea open exit door for Wesley Fofana! Blues considering offloading defender amid strong interest from Roberto De Zerbi's Marseille

Fofana, who has appeared in only 14 matches across all competitions for Chelsea since the summer of 2023, is considering ending his injury-plagued journey in West London and moving out of Stamford Bridge at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Per Footmercato, Ligue 1 giants Marseille have shown strong interest in the French defender and are expected to approach the Premier League giants with an offer. The Blues have yet to decide whether to sell the player permanently this summer or let him leave on a one-year loan deal.

Fofana rejoined Chelsea training in March after being sidelined for three months due to a hamstring injury. However, earlier in April, it was confirmed that he would have to undergo surgery on another muscle issue, thereby ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

Roberto De Zerbi's side could virtually seal a Champions League spot for next season if they beat Lille in the upcoming Ligue 1 fixture on March 4.
