    The blockbuster move was announced Monday morning, with Racing sending $150,000 in allocation money to the Wave in exchange for the midfielder. Kornieck, who is recently married and starting in 2024 will go by Taylor Flint, has 12 USWNT caps and was drafted third overall in the 2020 NWSL Superdraft.

    The midfielder said on the move: “I’m super excited to have a chance to represent this organization. New beginnings are usually tough, but if the amount of support I have already received says anything about the future, this is going to be a special place.”

    Kornieck scored six goals and added four assists across 45 games in two seasons for the Wave, developing into one of the most versatile midfielders in the league. The 6-foot-1 midfielder, who is the tallest USWNT player ever, was last capped in February 2023 but made her international debut in 2022.

    NWSL preseason is on the verge of beginning, with commissioner Jessica Berman recently announcing that the 2024 campaign will begin with the Challenge Cup between the Wave and Gotham FC on March 15. For Racing, their schedule has yet to be released, but the framework for their campaign is set in stone.
