    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Wiley recently represented the U.S. men's national team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he made three appearances off the bench. The USMNT crashed out in the quarterfinals, falling to eventual bronze medalists Morocco.

Wiley is widely seen as one of the top young prospects in the left back position in the USMNT pool. At Strasbourg, he'll earn his first European minutes as he strives to make the senior team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Strasbourg has a 99.7% ownership stake from company BlueCo, who is co-owned by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly. Fellow Blues youngster and midfielder Andrey Santos has also joined the French outlet on loan for the upcoming campaign.
