    According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, City have re-established contact with super-agent Ali Barat to discuss a potential deal for Simons. Chelsea have been negotiating with Leipzig for weeks, with the 22-year-old already approving a transfer to west London. However, the Citizens' interest introduces fresh uncertainty.
