Bissouma had tried to escape the attack by attempting to enter the nearby hotel, only to find its doors locked at that time in the morning. The player and his wife cut their holiday short by returning to London just a matter of hours later.
WHAT TOTTENHAM SAID
"We are aware of the incident that took place and we will continue to check on the welfare of Yves and his family," read a short statement from Tottenham.

Spurs will hope that Bissouma and his family haven't been badly shaken up by the disturbing incident and will do everything they can to support their player at a time when footballers continue to be the target of burglaries. Pre-season training will start early next month, with Spurs to face Hearts and QPR, before heading off on tour to Japan and South Korea.
