- Spurs sign Tel permanently
- Forward spent last season on loan
- Bayern agreed to reduced £30m fee
WHAT HAPPENED?
Tel initially signed for Spurs on loan from Bayern for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign, with the terms of that deal including an option to buy for around £50 million (€58.7m), on top of a £10m (€11.7m) fee up front. Though the north London club were reluctant to meet that clause, they renegotiated with Bayern and managed to get the final price down to £30m (€35m), with Tel penning a six-year contract.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The versatile attacker featured prominently at the back end of Spurs' up-and-down campaign, which saw them end a 17-year trophy drought with Europa League glory but also finish 17th in the Premier League. Tel contributed two goals and an assist in 20 matches on his initial loan at Tottenham.
