    The Blues raced into a 3-0 lead at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, with Cole Palmer notching a brace and Noni Madueke also scoring. However, they so nearly through it away. Luton pushed hard in the second half, with Ross Barkley and Elijah Adebayo both scoring in the final ten minutes to set up a nervy finish. Although Chelsea did hold on, Silva - who played the full 90 minutes - was visibly angered at full time, pushing a television camera away after the final whistle.

    Following the game, the veteran defender took to Instagram to explain his actions. He posted an image on his story with the caption: "Every professional athlete will always be pushing themselves harder and thinking they can do better. In a highly competitive league, it’s the details that secure 3 points. I just didn’t want to spend New Year’s like I did Christmas, sorry”. 🤪
