South Korean wonderkid Yang Min-hyeok has won the K-League's Young Player of the Year award prior to his move to Tottenham.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Min-hyeok is set to join Spurs from Gangwon FC in the January transfer window. The club struck a deal to secure the 18-year-old in the summer and he is set to move to England in the New Year. Prior to his arrival, though, he has been awarded the prize as the K-League's Young Player of the Year, and has also been named in the division's Team of the Year.

The teenager is a South Korea youth international and has been called up by the first-team, although he has not made his debut. In 38 K-League games, he scored 12 goals and registered six assists; Gangwon finished second in the table, eight points behind Ulsan.

Min-hyeok will aim to bolster Spurs' options in the forward line, and could even be seen as a long-term replacement for Son Heung-Min, who is now 32 and is seeing his minutes managed by Ange Postecoglou. He has regularly been substituted off late in games, and his countryman will hope to take some of his minutes upon arrival in north London.
