Amorim has a release clause in his contract that fee has gradually dropped during his time in charge and now stands at around £13 million ($16m). However, he is remaining quiet on the potential of a switch and issued a defiant response when asked about the prospect of moving to Anfield.
WHAT AMORIM SAID
Amorim told reporters: “Right now, I’m focused on Sporting. I’m very proud to be Sporting’s coach. We’re focused on winning titles. You’ll see in the end. I have a contract and I’m very happy here. That’s the most important thing, more than contracts, I’m very happy here. The focus is on beating Benfica in the Portuguese Cup.”
