    The Portuguese coach is poised to take the United job as the club want to appoint a new manager as early as possible after parting ways with Erik ten Hag on Monday. They have already initiated talks with Sporting CP and the coach's representative and want to seal a move by the end of this week.

    Amorim has confirmed the Red Devils' interest in him, however, he clarified that it is up to him to make a final decision on his future. The 39-year-old joined the Liga Portugal side in 2020 and under his tutelage, the club has won four trophies including two league titles. His current contract with Sporting is valid until 2026.

    Speaking to reporters about his links to Old Trafford, the Sporting manager said: "Manchester United is interested. But it's my choice. Until everything is decided, we won't be making any noise. I have nothing useful to say. I will take on whatever I want to do, as I have always done."
