    THE BIGGER PICTURE

TVP Sport journalist Mateusz Borek (via Super Express Sport) reported during the match that the Barcelona star's injury should not be a matter of concern as he felt slight muscle tension and decided to leave the pitch as a precautionary measure.

However, on Tuesday, the Poland national team confirmed that their skipper will miss the tournament opener against the Netherlands on Sunday after he tore biceps on Femoris muscle.

"Robert Lewandowski suffered a torn biceps femoris muscle, which will exclude him from participating in the first match of the tournament. We are doing everything so that Robert can play in the second match, against Austria, says Jacek Jaroszewski."
