    Barcelona came from behind to secure a 2-1 away win at Valencia on Saturday in their opening game of the new La Liga season, with Lewandowski bagging a brace either side of half time. Following the victory, the 35-year-old reflected on the turnaround and how he is feeling for the campaign ahead.

    WHAT ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI SAID

    After the victory, the Pole said: "My aim is always to score goals. Scoring two in the first matchday gives me confidence. The important thing now is to win the next matches."

    He added: "In the second [half], we were much better, with three or four very clear chances. This match is important because it marks a good start to the season. Valencia is always a tough opponent and we have taken the three points."

    On top of trying to help Barcelona compete for the biggest trophies again, the ex-Bayern Munich striker is aiming to secure another 20-goal season - something he has done for 13 straight campaigns. And if the veteran can continue his current form, Barca are likely to be a force to be reckoned with in 2024-25.
