It has been revealed why Manchester United keeper Andre Onana missed out on Ruben Amorim's squad for the final game of the season against Aston Villa.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Onana's horror season at United was expected to end with a clash against Aston Villa at Old Trafford. However, the Cameroonian goalkeeper was left out of the Red Devils squad by Amorim, with Altay Bayindir starting in his place. The decision to drop Onana comes as the 20-time Premier League champions reportedly look to sign a new goalkeeper this summer. However, it has now been revealed why the former Inter Milan goalkeeper has been left out of the squad.

Journalist Ben Jacobs claims that United decided to leave Onana out of the squad to hand the former FC Barcelona academy player significant amounts of rest as he is set to join up with the Cameroon national team after the end of the club season. Additionally, Onana is also set to travel to India soon as part of a sponsorship event.
