GOALTHE BIGGER PICTURE
Rashford, who signed a lucrative new five-year contract in the summer of 2023, has struggled to replicate his past form. The 27-year-old's performance declined drastically last season as he managed to score just eight goals in all competitions. The current campaign began with high hopes for a resurgence, but they soon faded away and he has netted just four times in 15 appearances so far in 2024-25.
GettyWHAT NEXT FOR RASHFORD?
Reports suggest that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) may be interested in acquiring the forward but no concrete development has taken place so far. Time is running out for Rashford to reestablish himself as a cornerstone of United’s attack. The immediate future is critical and he must aim to prove his worth in Thursday’s Europa League clash against Viktoria Plzen. Additionally, the highly anticipated derby against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday provides an opportunity for Rashford to make a decisive impact. Strong performances in these matches could reignite faith in his abilities and potentially alter his uncertain trajectory.
