(C)Getty ImagesWHAT HAPPENED?
The Frenchman is among a certain few superstars who are displeased with their summer move to Saudi Arabia from Europe and are looking for a way back. The 36-year-old has not been having a good time, and his relationship with the Saudi club is at an all-time low. During the league's break for the AFC Asian Cup, Benzema has not returned to "pre-season" practice with the team since going AWOL in December. Benzema does want to play football in Europe again, however, according to Marca [via football.espana], it will not be at Real Madrid as Los Blancos have closed the doors on any potential return.
