Ben StansallWHAT HAPPENED?
Scholes was asked about his hopes for United's upcoming campaign under Erik ten Hag and rattled off a list of reasons why he is struggling to get enthused. Not only does he believe that there are significant holes in the squad, he is unsure about Andre Onana as the goalkeeper and has expressed his concern that Ten Hag will ultimately pay the price.
GettyWHAT SCHOLES SAID
Scholes told The Overlap: "I've heard a lot of United fans saying they're excited for the new season, but I'm struggling to get excited. The middle of the pitch being an area where we're just f*cking empty. Teams just breaking through us."
He added: "I still worry about the goalkeeper, he's a big concern for me. Even watching the pre-season games, a couple of goals he conceded against Liverpool... I worry to death about him."

United play Manchester City this weekend in the Community Shield. They will then face Fulham in their first Premier League fixture on August 16.
