One Real English icon to another! David Beckham sends message to Jude Bellingham after Madrid wrap up La Liga title win

David Beckham has, as a former English icon at Real, sent a congratulatory message to Jude Bellingham on the back of Madrid’s title triumph.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The Blancos are kings of Spain once again, with the Liga crown for 2023-24 captured on the back of a 3-0 victory over Cadiz. Carlo Ancelotti’s side have got over that line with four games to spare, as the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are left trailing in their wake.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Bellingham was among the goals once again as Cadiz were seen off at Santiago Bernabeu, taking him to 22 in total across what has been a productive debut season in the Spanish capital. The 20-year-old midfielder has been revelling in capturing the first domestic title of his senior career.
WHAT BECKHAM SAID
After posting a “Campeones de Espana! HALA MADRID!” message on social media, Bellingham has received replies from some familiar faces. Ex-Borussia Dortmund team-mate Jadon Sancho has offered up arms aloft and love heart emojis – with Jordan Henderson and Lucas Vazquez doing similar – while former England captain Beckham has said: “Well done mate. Campeones.”

WHAT NEXT FOR BELLINGHAM?
Beckham, who is now working with Lionel Messi as a co-owner of MLS side Inter Miami, captured the Liga title himself during a four-year stint at the Bernabeu. He was unable to get his hands on the Champions League trophy, but Bellingham can still savour European glory this season as Real ready themselves for the second leg of a semi-final showdown with German giants Bayern Munich that is locked at 2-2 on aggregate.
