Marcus Rashford is undertaking extra training sessions in a bid to be ready to play for Manchester United should he be brought back into the squad.

However, his hopes of escaping his United nightmare this month have not yet been realised and he could end up staying at Old Trafford until the end of the season. With that scenario in mind, the England international has started putting in extra work to ensure he will be ready to give 100 per cent should Amorim call him back into action, The Telegraph and The Times report.

Amorim gave a rather dismal assessment when he was asked about the prospect of Rashford returning to the fold, saying after the 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton on Sunday: "It is his choice [not to play]... No matter what, I am not going to put out a player I don’t believe is the best for the team."

The United academy graduate could still find a way out of the club before the transfer window closes, but will first hope he is given a chance when they take on Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday.
