Man Utd consider surprise swoop to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford as Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks to buy leaders this summer

Toney has been heavily linked with a transfer this summer with multiple clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea, having shown interest in the striker. The 28-year-old has the interest of the Red Devils, as per 90min, and the club could very well make a move this summer to sign the experienced Premier League striker under the direction of Ratcliffe.

Toney would reportedly be open to making a move away from the Bees this year or even waiting for the summer of 2025 when his contract expires. As per the report, Brentford would accept a bid for the striker in the range of £50 million ($62m) but the price could fluctuate depending on the striker's performance at Euro 2024.

United are chasing Toney as competition for Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund, who has run hot and cold this season under Erik ten Hag. The club believes that the incorporation of an experienced striker and a leader would be good for the Dane's progress as a number nine.

Toney will have a lot of options to choose from this summer if he does intend to leave. He will remain focused on Brentford's run to the end of the season and the Euros with England before he decides his future.
