  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

At the forefront of United’s wishlist is Ait-Nouri, the highly-rated Algerian left-back currently playing for Wolves. Ait-Nouri’s performances have garnered attention from several top clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool. However, Wolves are reportedly unwilling to part with the defender but their resolve will be tested if a lucrative offer comes along.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell has also emerged as a potential target for United. Despite being an established England international, Chilwell has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge under new manager Enzo Maresca. With Marc Cucurella and Renato Veiga excelling in the left-back role, Chelsea may consider parting ways with Chilwell. If they choose to sell Chilwell, they could command a transfer fee, as the England international is contracted until 2027.

    WHAT NEXT?

United’s need for reinforcements in the left-back position has been exacerbated by injuries to their existing players. Tyrell Malacia has yet to make an appearance this season due to a long-term injury, while Luke Shaw has only recently returned to action, coming off the bench in a game against Ipswich Town. This lack of reliable options has placed pressure on United to act swiftly in the transfer market.
