Man Utd raise Bryan Mbeumo offer! Red Devils make improved bid of over £60m in bid to beat Tottenham to Brentford star

Per talkSPORT, United have raised their bid for Mbeumo to a package worth in excess of £60 million ($81m), and talks are continuing this week as the club aim to add to the signing of Matheus Cunha. Tottenham also made a bid for Mbeumo, but the player would prefer a move to Old Trafford, according to the report.

The Bees forward scored 20 Premier League goals last season and is now poised to leave, with United seemingly overtaking Spurs in the race for his signature. To that end, the report claims that the north London club will now focus their attention on Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze.

Mbeumo only has a year remaining on his contract at Brentford, but they are poised to net a significant fee for the Cameroon international, who cost just under £6m ($8m) when he moved to the club from Troyes in 2019. At the time, that was the club's record signing.

It remains to be seen if United's latest offer is to Brentford's liking, but they appear to have stolen a march on their closest rivals for Mbeumo's signature, at the very least.
