    WHAT HAPPENED?

The Sun claim the RB Leipzig forward was watched by United's new head of recruitment last weekend, sparking speculation of a summer transfer for the 21-year-old. It is believed a gentleman's agreement between the player and his club exists, with RB promising the Slovenian he could walk if a top club offers £60m (€70m) for his signature.

However, it is now believed the German club are looking for a massive fee in excess of £86m (€100m). This would represent a new record sale for the club, who collected £77m from City for Josko Gvardiol in 2023. Such a fee could be prohibitive for United, who will need to cut costs in their squad to comply with the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.

    WHAT NEXT FOR BENJAMIN SESKO?

Now in his second season with RB Leipzig, it feels the natural moment for the Slovenian to move onto pastures new. Whether that's at United remains to be seen. Arsenal and Chelsea are both rumoured to be interested in the player.
