Man Utd's next striker? Red Devils sound out January transfer for cut-price, 18-goal Stuttgart frontman Serhou Guirassy

Guirassy has impressed massively this season and is leading pre-season relegation candidates Stuttgart into contention for Champions League qualification. Guirassy's performances have caught the eye of many clubs across Europe, not least Manchester United. According to Florian Plettenberg, the Red Devils have contacted the German club to sound out Guirassy's availability, with as little as €20 million (£17m/$22m) potentially enough to secure the towering frontman's services.

Guirassy's 16 league goals this season, second only to Harry Kane's 18, have propelled the club up the Bundesliga and into third place, while he has also bagged twice in the cup. Meanwhile, United's strikers have struggled to find the back of the net, with new £72m ($90m) signing Rasmus Hojlund still yet to score in the Premier League. Guirassy, who is supposedly open to speaking to United, could offer a solution to the dearth of goals at Old Trafford.

Born in France to Guinean parents, Guirassy represented the nation of his birth at youth level. However, he decided to switch to represent his parents' homeland and made his Guinea debut in a 0–0 draw against South Africa in March 2022.

There is no guarantee that Guirassy departs Germany this winter, however, with the player expecting to see the season out in Germany. But should United come in for the striker in January - having offloaded a few attackers of their own - it seems unlikely the player would turn down a move to the Premier League.
