Man Utd learn when they will find out Liam Delap transfer decision with Chelsea, Everton & Newcastle also waiting for call from £30m Ipswich striker

According to The Times, Delap is expected to decide on his next club before linking up with England’s Under-21 squad for the European Championships in Slovenia. The tournament kicks off on June 11, giving United and others a narrow window to seal a deal.

As a result of a relegation clause in his Ipswich contract, Delap is now available for a fee of £30m, a figure that has triggered serious interest from multiple top-flight sides. United and Chelsea are believed to be in pole position to sign the 22-year-old, while Newcastle United and Everton have also made their interest known to the player’s representatives. All four clubs are eagerly waiting for Delap’s final call as his stock continues to rise.

The urgency to reinforce the forward line was again highlighted during United’s post-season tour, where they slumped to a 1-0 defeat against the ASEAN All Stars in Kuala Lumpur. Delap, with his strength, movement, and finishing instincts, is seen as a potential solution to United’s goal-scoring woes.

United are not placing all their hopes on Delap, however. Talks are said to be progressing with Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, and there is genuine interest in Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.
