  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Per talkSPORT, Ipswich Town's Delap is reportedly ready to pick United over Chelsea as his next destination this summer. The former Manchester City player, who has scored 12 Premier League goals in the 2024-25 campaign, is ready to return to the north west.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Delap reportedly had a £30 million ($40m) relegation release clause in his contract, which is now active after the Tractor Boys went down from the top division last month. It is believed that both the Blues and the Red Devils are ready to trigger the clause, as they look to bolster their attack ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The report adds that Delap's decision could be affected by the result of the upcoming Europa League final between United and Tottenham Hotspur, as the English forward is prioritising European football. If Ruben Amorim's side win the title next week and qualify for the Champions League, they will be able to lure Delap to move to Old Trafford.
