- One comment destroys Carragher
- Liverpool start with two wins
WHAT HAPPENED?
Carragher was discussing Liverpool's performance as Slot walked over to speak in front of the Sky Sports cameras, at which point anchor Kelly Cates remarked to the retired defender: "I'm not even listening to you, Arne Slot's here."
Slot fired straight in with: "Does anyone ever listen to him?" as Carragher fell about laughing and accurately predicted the subsequent social media response.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
It was a competitive home debut for Slot as he continues to find his way after replacing Jurgen Klopp in the Liverpool hot seat. But it's been a fine start so far, collecting consecutive wins over Ipswich and Brentford, scoring four goals and conceding none.
AFPDID YOU KNOW?
Liverpool last started a Premier League season with back-to-back clean sheets in 2021-22 when they followed up an opening 3-0 win over Norwich with a 2-0 victory against Burnley. The Reds haven't started with three successive shutouts since 2018-19.
WHAT NEXT FOR LIVERPOOL?
Liverpool and Slot will be looking for that third-straight clean sheet when they travel east down the M62 to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Red Devils were beaten by Brighton in stoppage time in their last outing.
