Lionesses star Georgia Stanway makes vow to Bayern Munich fans after losing out in DFB Pokal final to Wolfsburg

    Less than a week on from retaining their Bundesliga crown ahead of Wolfsburg, their rivals exacted revenge on Stanway's side on Thursday in the cup in front of 44,400 fans at RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne. First-half goals from Jule Brand and Dominique Janssen secured the victory, something Lionesses ace Stanway and her side have vowed to bounce back from.

    Bayern were aiming for a domestic double but Wolfsburg were deserved winners in the end. That result ended their unbeaten run in German football this season but they still won the league title and midfielder Stanway, 25, played a big part in that.

    Bayern round off their season with a home clash against lowly Nurnberg on Sunday afternoon, followed by a trip to fourth-placed Hoffenheim on May 20.
