Lionel Messi joined at Super Bowl by fellow Barcelona legends as Inter Miami stars Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets & Jordi Alba swap MLS for NFL

The greatest spectacle in American football saw A-list stars come out in force. Taylor Swift, Bradley Cooper, Jay Z and Adam Sandler were among those in attendance at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans – along with Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney and his wife Kaitlin Olson.

Messi found room in his packed pre-season schedule to witness a different form of football, as he helped to launch the 2025 MLS campaign. Suarez, Busquets and Alba joined him in Louisiana as the Barcelona legends now plying their trade in Florida linked up in a VIP box.

Messi and Co. made the most of an opportunity to let their hair down before the real business of picking up points begins for them, as they look to chase down more major honours of their own – with play-off heartache having been suffered in 2024.

The new MLS campaign will get underway on February 22, with Inter Miami gearing up for that by taking in a tour of the Americas – with Messi already among the goals as he looks to defend his MVP title and add further silverware to a record-breaking roll of honour.
