Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Inter Miami dominate MLS Team of the Matchday after Orlando City thrashing

The MLS Team of the Matchday saw Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Julian Gressel named in the starting eleven with coach Tata Martino also making the cut. The rest of the team included Sean Johnson, Aaron Herrera, Miles Robinson, and Noah Eile, making up the defence. Gressel was accompanied by Andres Gomez, Lucho Acosta and Celio Pompeu in midfield, while Joseph Paintsil completed the attack with the former Barcelona forwards.

Inter Miami have had all eyes on them since the start of the season due to their superstar acquisitions over the last season and a half. It has been a very commendable start for the Herons as they have won twice and drawn once with a late equalizer from Messi against LA Galaxy.

Messi also made it to the previous Team of the Matchday having played twice in that slot. The Argentine was joined by goalkeeper Drake Callender, who kept a clean sheet against Real Salt Lake and made eight saves against LA Galaxy and also saved a penalty by Riqui Puig.

Messi and Co. have a major task on their hands up next as they take on Nashville away from home in the first leg of the round of 16 of the CONCACAF Champions League on Thursday, March 7. They will return to MLS action against Montreal on Sunday, March 10.
