    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Yamal's journey to the top has been meteoric. Since making his debut for Barcelona, he has broken numerous records, including being the youngest scorer for the club. He is also the youngest to start a Champions League game and contribute to a goal, albeit on two different occasions. For Spain, he has two goals and four assists since his debut in September 2023.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Yamal holds the record for being the youngest scorer in the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup. At 16 years and 87 days, he scored in the league against Granada to displace Malaga's Fabrice Olinga from the top spot.

    WHAT NEXT FOR YAMAL?

As Yamal takes to the field, all eyes will be on him to see if he can set yet another record by becoming the youngest goalscorer in the history of the European Championship. The current record is held by England's Jude Bellingham, who scored in Euro 2020 at the age of 18 years and four days. Given Yamal's track record and his knack for rising to the occasion, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him achieve this feat.
