Jose Mourinho's next club?! Second-tier Saudi side target legendary Portuguese coach ahead of promotion

The legendary Portuguese manager has been without a job since <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/roma-sack-jose-mourinho-portuguese-boss-dismissed-after-ac-milan-defeat-dismal-season-touchline-bans/blt2e35df8cbf77db36" target="_blank">Roma parted ways with him</a> in January. Since then, he has been linked with a move to several clubs and now, according to journalist <a href="https://twitter.com/JacobsBen/status/1786735288934388023" target="_blank">Ben Jacobs</a>, Saudi Arabian second-division side Al-Qadsiah are reportedly keen on appointing Mourinho as their next boss.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Qadsiah are currently leading the second-tier title race by nine points and are favourites to win the league and secure promotion to the Saudi Pro League. The Aramco-owned club reportedly have big ambitions for the 2024-25 campaign and are accordingly keen on appointing the former Chelsea and Manchester United coach. The 61-year-old is due to meet the club officials in Khobar later this month.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Despite being heavily linked with a move to Benfica, the veteran coach refuted rumours of him heading back to his homeland as he claimed <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/jose-mourinho-stopped-going-chelsea-matches-one-key-condition-next-managerial-job/bltdc9297d58a5f2e9a#cs790cdac57ce493cf" target="_blank">he is not in talks with any Portuguese club</a>.
