However, talks between the Italy international and Flamengo have hit a snag, Globo reports, with the defensive midfielder demanding too much in terms of salary. Meanwhile, Arsenal - who see him as a leader in the group - are hopeful of signing him to a one-year extension, which would keep him tied to the north London team until the summer of 2026.
