He wrote on X: "The only reason a manager would be unhappy in this situation, is the player took too long to be ready to come on."

The incident is likely to place more doubts over Salah's future at Liverpool. Carragher has already suggested a "discussion needs to be had" over the Egyptian after an anonymous display in the Merseyside derby against Everton. Salah is heading into the final year of his current contract at Liverpool and there is a possibility he could join Klopp in leaving Anfield in the summer.
