'She's actually really funny!' - Jaedyn Shaw explains why Emma Hayes has already earned the 'love' of entire USWNT squad

The former Chelsea boss formally took charge of the United States women's national team last month and oversaw two convincing friendly wins over South Korea. Hayes is now preparing her team in the quest for an Olympic gold medal in Paris later this month.

The 47-year-old British manager has already announced her 18-member USWNT squad for the Paris Olympics, although she did not name veteran American star Alex Morgan in the team. Nonetheless, San Diego star Shaw claimed that the new head coach has already earned a lot of love and respect from the team while speaking about her personality.

Speaking to FIFA.com, the 19-year-old said: "We all love Emma already! She's definitely got some personality. She has her standards and expectations and I think that she's going to be really, really good for us. It's been challenging and hard work, but we're up for it," she continued.

"We're just continuing to trust her and learn from her and her experience. She meshes well with all of us. She's actually really funny! She can be serious at times, but she also cracks jokes here and there."

The USWNT will play a final friendly match on Tuesday against Costa Rica before heading to Paris to compete at the 2024 Olympic games.
