  • WHAT HAPPENED?

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Mourinho advised Fenerbahce’s board to seek alternative options on the flanks, bringing an end to their interest in Sancho. This decision came after Mourinho consulted Amorim, the current United boss, and sought insight into why Sancho is no longer part of the long-term vision at Old Trafford. The two coaches have a close relationship.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mourinho, renowned for his strict managerial standards, is understood to have based his decision on Sancho’s perceived lack of motivation and professionalism. The Portuguese tactician expressed reluctance to bring in a player who he believes lacks commitment to the cause and could be more interested in a lucrative payday than contributing meaningfully on the pitch.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

With a future in Turkiye now off the table, Sancho is edging closer to a new chapter in Italy. United have reportedly accepted a €25 million (£21m/$30m) offer from Serie A heavyweights Juventus. Negotiations over personal terms are said to be at an advanced stage, and talks have accelerated following the approval of the transfer fee.
