WHAT HAPPENED?
Ratcliffe purchased a 25 percent stake in the Old Trafford club from the Glazers. INEOS were initially expected to take charge of footballing operations, but The Athletic reports that they will also have influence in business decisions because they will also affect the sporting side of things. Both the Glazers and Ratcliffe will have to be aligned on the big decisions.

United held an all-staff meeting this week to inform employees of the scope of Ratcliffe's role at the club. The Glazers are willing to give the new partial owner more influence outside of footballing operations to help implement changes in other areas of the business beyond the squad and the Carrington training base.
