Good news for Harry Kane! 'Best mate' and golfing buddy Thomas Muller signs new contract at Bayern

The veteran Germany international was in talks with Bayern over a new contract and Fabrizio Romano revealed on Monday that he had agreed to sign a new deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025. His current contract at Bayern was due to expire at the end of the current season.

Bayern made the official announcement on Tuesday, alongside the words: "25 years for our number 25."

Muller's decision to stay at the club until 2025 will certainly make the club's star striker Harry Kane happy. According to a report from The Athletic, the England captain shares a close bond with the German star and considers him one of his best mates along with former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.

The 34-year-old was linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United in the summer as Erik ten Hag - who is known to be an admirer of the player - was eyeing a move for the seasoned campaigner to bolster his squad in the January transfer window.

Thomas Tuchel's side are currently second on the Bundesliga table, four points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen with a game in hand. They will be next seen in action against Wolfsburg on Wednesday.
