  • WHAT ALEX SCOTT SAID

In the clip, she says: "I never thought, 'I can't do that'. It was always, 'What if?'. I remember sitting in my media degree and I was like, 'Oh god, if I manage to have a part time job or do something after football' - because I was worried about paying my mortgage, how am I going to pay my bills? I didn't want my mum to worry and I remember sitting in that media degree being like, 'Imagine one day if I ever presented BBC Sports Personality of the Year'. I remember sitting in that class and then here I am. I've done it for the last four years. Not only that, I've done Children in Need, I've been on Strictly [Come Dancing], and a Comic Relief challenge. All the shows that I've managed to be a part of but I said it was because I've never limited myself, like I never thought, 'I can't do that'. My mind was just always open and bringing it in."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Scott had a distinguished career in women's football and now she is matching that off the pitch and behind the lens. While playing for Arsenal, she completed a degree in professional sports writing and broadcasting at Staffordshire University and that has proved to be the foundation for her success today.
