Erik ten Hag's Bayer Leverkusen target cut price fee for fading Liverpool star

According to German publication Kicker, Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah is a top target for Leverkusen this summer after losing Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich. The report adds that they think a €30m (£25.6m) offer will be enough to lure him to the Bundesliga side.

Quansah is firmly behind Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate in the defensive pecking order, and with the 22-year-old previously making it very clear that he wants to play regular football, he may not stick around to be a benchwarmer. In England, reports have suggested the Reds value him at £40m ($53.7m) but Leverkusen will 'never pay that'.

Versatile defender Quansah, who is currently representing England at the Under-21 Euros, still has four years left to go on his Liverpool contract and the club have an option to extend that for a further year.

The 6ft 3in Quansah, who made 25 appearances for Liverpool this season but just 13 of those were starts, could be the subject of transfer bids this summer as the Merseyside outfit consider offloading some fringe players to balance the books.
