De La Fuente, Sargent, Busio and the USMNT stars that completed transfers this summer

  • De La Fuente MarseilleGetty

Konrad de la Fuente - Marseille

A former Barcelona star ready to star in Ligue 1. Sound familiar?

All jokes aside, Konrad de la Fuente's move to Marseille gives him what could just be the perfect launch pad after struggling to truly breakthrough at Barcelona.

The talent is certainly there, as the 20-year-old winger has already shown plenty at youth level with the U.S. and Barca.

But now he appears ready to truly kickstart his senior career thanks to a hot start at Marseille, one of France's most historic clubs.

  • Pulisic Sargent USMNTGetty

    Josh Sargent - Norwich

This is Josh Sargent's real chance to claim the USMNT No.9 jersey.

The forward is currently locked in a big ole battle for that striker position, but moving to Norwich gives him the opportunity to truly lock it down.

Over the last few years at Werder Bremen, Sargent has been a victim of his team's lack of success as he's been unable to truly shine on a bad team.

It may be difficult to do so at Norwich too, as the Canaries were only just promoted.

But Norwich give Sargent a chance to compete in the Premier League and learn from, and maybe even replace, Teemu Pukki.

  • Busio USMNT 2021Getty

    Gianluca Busio - Venezia

The ex-Sporting KC star, dubbed by the club's coach Peter Vermes as Pirlo-esque, will now get to further that reputation as he makes the move to Serie A.

Originally an attacking midfielder that is more than comfortable as a No.6 these days, Gianluca Busio is silky smooth on the ball, very good on set pieces and is consistently adding new wrinkles to his already-refined game.

The midifeld picture is very crowded with the U.S. but Venezia gives Busio the chance to grow with a club that has ambitions of becoming a regular in Serie A.

  • Tanner TessmannVenezia FC

    Tanner Tessman - Venezia

Busio isn't the only MLS product that signed for Veneziamerica this summer as he's joined by Tanner Tessman, who is the latest FC Dallas product to make his way to Europe.

At 19, he still has a lot of developing to do, but it seems Venezia are very high on the former Clemson football recruit, with the club betting on two teenage Americans upon their return to Serie A with the possibility of more USMNT stars on the way.

  • Vines USMNT Gold Cup 2021Getty

    Sam Vines - Royal Antwerp

Following a very solid run at the Gold Cup, Sam Vines has left the Colorado Rapids for Royal Antwerp.

Vines also reportedly drew interest from Germany and Spain, but his move to Belgium will have him playing in the Europa League this season.

With the likes of Sergino Dest, Antonee Robinson and George Bello in the left-back pool, the switch to Europe gives Vines a chance to earn a spot in the squad for World Cup qualifying.

  • Siebatcheu Honduras USMNTGetty

    Jordan Siebatcheu - Young Boys

Another player in the mix at striker, Jordan Siebatcheau's summer move isn't exactly a new one.

After spending last season on loan with Young Boys, the striker made his stay with the Swiss powerhouses permanent this summer as he departed French side Rennes.

Last season, the 25-year-old forward scored 15 goals in 43 games, and he's off to a hot start already this season with five in his first seven in all competitions.

  • Clark Red Bulls MLSGetty

    Caden Clark - RB Leipzig

Technically, Caden Clark won't head to Germany until after the MLS season, but the young midfielder did officially sign on with RB Leipzig this summer.

Clark has emerged as one of the brightest talents in MLS during his short stay with the New York Red Bulls, scoring four goals last season and already adding four despite missing time due to an appendectomy this summer.

A true attacking talent, Clark will now turn towards Jesse Marsch to help lead the next step of his development as he'll also join another former Red Bulls star, Tyler Adams, in Leipzig.

  • Ethan Horvath USMNT 2021Getty Images

    Ethan Horvath - Nottingham Forest

The USMNT's Nations League hero appears to have finally found a place to play consistently.

After being relegated to Simon Mignolet's backup at Club Brugge, Ethan Horvath signed for Nottingham Forest, where he'll compete in the Championship.

Unfortunately for him, even with his heroics against Mexico, the goalkeeper competition appears to be a two-horse race between Zack Steffen and Matt Turner, but who knows what a good run of games can do for Horvath as he continues to grow his own game?

  • Christian Ramirez USMNT 01082019 ISIJDJohn Dorton

    Christian Ramirez - Aberdeen

At 30 years old and with only two caps to his name, Christian Ramirez is probably out of the national team picture, but the former Houston Dynamo forward is already shining in Scotland.

Ramirez has four goals in his first five games for Aberdeen, including three goals in three appearances in the Europa Conference League.

  • Llanez USMNT 2019Getty

    Ulysses Llanez - St. Polten

After unfortunately missing out on Olympic qualifiers due to an ankle injury, Ulysses Llanez has been loaned out by Wolfsburg this summer as he looks for consistent playing time with St. Polten in Austria.

A talented forward who had the courage to step up and bury a penalty in his first USMNT cap, the 20-year-old is at the point in his career when he's really in need of good senior minutes somewhere.

He was limited to just 103 minutes on loan at Heerenveen last season due to some injury issues, so this may just be the fresh start Llanez needed to truly start developing.

  • Mihailovic Soto U.S. U-23sGetty

    Sebastian Soto - Porto B

While Norwich turned to one American forward in Sargent, they also loaned out another in Sebastian Soto.

The 20-year-old striker will spend the season on loan with Porto B after scoring seven goals in 12 games on loan at Dutch side Telstar last season.

Although a bit further down the depth chart at the moment, Soto did shine for the U.S. back in November as he scored twice in his senior debut.
