    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Ahead of his match against Raymond van Barneveld, in the last 16, former United defender Neville put out a video message on X, to send him the "Manchester United spirit".

"I'm with your beloved Manchester United at Nottingham Forest," Neville said in a video message to Littler.

"I hope we get the result that you want and I want ahead of your unbelievable special match tonight against Van Barneveld, your hero. It's going to be an exciting night for everyone. I'm wishing you all the very best and sending you that Manchester United spirit."

Littler later revealed to the BBC: "I've got a lot of followers now. I've had a message off Luke Shaw, from Manchester United, from Rio Ferdinand, and I had a message off Gary Neville and Jonny Evans before my game against Barney."

Littler bumped into Declan Rice and Aaron Ramsdale in the hotel lobby and the Gunners duo posed for the camera with the teen sensation. They also invited Littler to watch Arsenal play against West Ham United last week at Emirates, a match they lost 2-0.

United, meanwhile, have offered Littler a guest past to attend their upcoming Premier League clash with Tottenham at Old Trafford, as per The Daily Mail. Littler will be in the stands to watch the club he has supported his whole life on January 14 - three days before he turns 17 - and may even be formally introduced to the rest of the crowd depending on the result of his final matchup against Humphries.
