It turns out that the 34-year-old, the first player to ever represent the Bahamas at the competition, was fulfilling a request from a fan. He was sent a private message on social media asking him to copy Palmer's moves after a 180. "Rashad Sweeting you are my hero," the fan posted on X later.
DID YOU KNOW?
The celebration has become a popular one as Chelsea hero Palmer performs it after scoring a goal, and he has been doing plenty of that since joining the London team from Manchester City in 2023. He has even moved to trademark his nickname 'Cold Palmer' which inspired the shivering celebration.
