Chelsea sign ex-Arsenal hero's son! Blues snap up 15-year-old from Watford who is already playing at U21 level

Per Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have completed a deal to sign Mathis Eboue from Watford. The midfielder is the son of former Arsenal star Emmanuel, and is now poised to make the move to Stamford Bridge, where he will link up with the club's academy.

Eboue is an England youth international, with three caps for the Under-16s. He has enjoyed a meteoric rise through Watford's youth academy and has played for the Under-21s, despite only being 15.

Zak Sturge and Shim Mheuka have also joined Chelsea's academy, both coming from Brighton, as the Blues continue to invest heavily in youth players. It remains to be seen if any of them will ever reach the first-team.

Chelsea's first-team face Tottenham in a huge London derby this weekend. They then face Astana in the Conference League, in what could be a prime opportunity to give younger players another chance.
